In the next step, we just need to connect the data from our newly created variable to the correct custom dimension in Google Analytics. Ideally, you've created a variable with your Google Analytics settings. Open this variable to configure the necessary settings.
In the “More Settings” entry, open the drop-down menu and select the “Custom denmark phone number data Dimensions” entry.
Add an index 1 (in our case, 2) to match the index you previously set up in Google Analytics. This step is important for correct mapping. Then, select the rightmost block and choose the data layer variable you previously set up in Metrics.
Test in preview mode.
Activate preview mode and open one of your blog pages. The GMT debug console should appear at the bottom of the tab. Now select the "Variables" section and activate an event from the summary in the left pane of the debug console. Now scroll down until you find your variable. If the correct value appears there, you've done everything correctly.
