Move WhatsApp Data to New Number

Switching to a new phone number doesn’t mean you have to lose your WhatsApp chat history. WhatsApp provides a built-in feature to move your data to a new number while keeping your conversations, groups, and settings intact.

Before starting, make sure your new whatsapp number database number is active and can receive SMS or calls. On your old phone, open WhatsApp and go to Settings > Account > Change Number. Read the instructions, then tap Next.

Enter your old phone number and the new one. WhatsApp will then ask if you want to notify your contacts. You can choose to inform all contacts, contacts you've chatted with, or only those in your custom list.

Once confirmed, WhatsApp will migrate your account information, groups, and settings to the new number. All your data — including chat history — will stay on the same device.
