For iOS users, you can backup your WhatsApp data to iCloud by going to Settings > Chats > Chat Backup > Back Up Now.
Android users can backup to Google Drive by opening WhatsApp > Settings > Chats > Chat backup > Back up to Google Drive.
Transfer WhatsApp Data to New Phone (iOS):
After backing up to iCloud, install WhatsApp on whatsapp number database your new iPhone and verify your phone number.
During the setup process, you will be prompted to restore your chat history from iCloud backup. Simply follow the on-screen instructions to complete the transfer.
Install WhatsApp on your new Android device and verify your phone number.
During the setup, WhatsApp will detect the Google Drive backup and ask if you want to restore it. Confirm and wait for the restoration process to finish.
