Joton Chandra Ghosh, Haluaghat: GBC-Christian Health Project Joyramkura Hospital is located in Jugli Union of Haluaghat Upazila of Mymensingh, bordering the foothills of Meghalaya, India. The hospital was established in 1964 on 13 acres of land.

At that time, the hospital was inaugurated by Australian missionary Dr. Borden. It was established about 54 years ago with the funding of foreign missionary donor organizations with the aim of providing low-cost and free medical services to the local public, including the indigenous people of this area and the helpless people of the small and marginalized groups. In a short time, the reputation of the institution in health services spread across the country and abroad, and the institution's reputation gradually increased. This institution is a symbol of trust in health services for about three lakh people of the upazila.

Patients suffering from complex and difficult diseases country email list started coming from different districts. Although the institution started its journey with only ten beds, it currently has fifty beds. Every day, medical services are provided to more than 200 patients in the outpatient and inpatient departments. 80 percent of whom are mothers and children. The institution has achieved remarkable success in the treatment of maternal and child health. Behind the institution's remarkable success in medical services are the extraordinary achievements of Dr. Lucy and Dr. Tapas Rema. Both of them, husband and wife, have been providing round-the-clock service to patients.

In addition to health services, 10 doctors in each batch of BRAC University, in a joint initiative of Joyramkura GBC-Christian Health Project and BRAC University, trained 30 students in each batch of BRAC University's Diploma in Midwifery and awarded them certificates. In addition, 50 students in each batch of nursing course were trained through a three-year course. The trained students have completed the course and are working in various hospitals to overcome their unemployment and have become financially independent.

In addition, the organization is providing microcredit project support for socio-economic development among the people, including the helpless and extremely poor family members of the small ethnic groups of the local area, in accordance with the rules of the microcredit regulatory body. Currently, the organization has a total of 194 employees.

The person who has contributed the most to the success of the organization is Tarun Daring, Executive Director of JBC-Christian Health Project Jayaramkura Hospital. He joined the organization as Deputy Director on January 1, 2012. Later, he joined as Executive Director on July 1, 2015.

The hospital is continuing its activities with renewed enthusiasm to overcome the dilapidation and develop it into a modern hospital. Ankur Bhowmik, the financial manager of the institution, has been supporting the executive director in every way. He said that due to the reduction in the amount of donations from the donor organizations, there has been a temporary problem in the development of the hospital. He is seeking the kind attention of the donor organizations to provide good treatment to the helpless and poor people.
