LastPass, Dark Web Monitoring Feature

Post by sohanuzzaman53 »

2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — LogMeIn LastPass introduced its new LastPass Security Dashboard in August, providing end users with steps they can take to strengthen their online security by monitoring the security of their online accounts.

Building on the original LastPass security features, the new LastPass Security Dashboard now includes a dark web monitoring feature for LastPass Premium, Family, and Enterprise license users that proactively monitors for security breaches and alerts them when action is needed. The new LastPass Security Dashboard gives users complete control of their digital lives with insight into weak and reused passwords, as well as a full status picture of their online security.

A recent LastPass study of over 3,000 global consumers list of phone numbers philippines found that 40 percent of people don’t know what the dark web is, let alone that their data has been compromised. The majority (86 percent) claim they have no way of knowing if their information is on the dark web. With much of the world spending more time online and cyber threats facing consumers and businesses at an all-time high, it’s critical to stay on top of your online presence and protect yourself from data breaches.

The new LastPass dark web monitoring feature proactively checks email addresses against a 3rd party database of compromised credentials. If an email address is found in the database, the user is immediately notified via email and a message directly in the LastPass Security Dashboard . Users are prompted to update the password of the compromised account.

“When it comes to your login credentials, financial information, or personal information, it’s incredibly important to be aware of ways to protect your identity. LastPass already takes care of your passwords, and now you can extend that protection to more parts of your digital life,” said Dan DeMichele, VP of IAM Product Management at LogMeIn. “LastPass is now equipped to be your real home for managing your online security – making it easy to take action and stay safe in an increasingly digital world. With LastPass, all your critical information is safe, so you can access it whenever and wherever you need it.”
