«Social Media: So, are numbers important or not» is the original title of the post on SocialMouths, in which they excellently detail the two views on the «numerical importance» in Social Networks, which I use as a reflection for our Friday quote today. As most of you will understand, there are cases in which they ARE important and in many others in which they are NOT, obviously.

When planning a Social Media Marketing strategy, special bc data mexico emphasis is sometimes placed on increasing the number of fans or followers as a basic or key objective. Without taking into account the business objectives that the company or business has on the Internet, this increase is too volatile (the direct relationship between more fans/followers/likes/tweets and more sales is subtle).

For example, a new company that sells furniture online will have as its main objective to reach more people, promote its products, enhance its image in channels other than the Web, etc. It is clear that an increase in "mass" on Social Networks is important and should be the axis of the strategy.

However, for an insurance company with thousands of clients, the numbers it will move on Social Networks will not have as much weight. In this case, it will surely be exposed to criticism, comparisons, opinions... The "numbers" would not be the key element in the online strategy, but rather how to obtain an optimal channel for Customer Service, or as a News-News issuer, to publish studies, etc.
