Patents surfaced in 2017 suggesting Amazon may be working on a smart refrigerator. Since then, it has launched several branded kitchen appliances and made its Alexa voice assistant compatible with cooking.
In the fall of 2021, Business Insider reported on Project Pulse, Amazon’s secretive smart refrigerator project. Insiders say it will be equipped with machine vision and other advanced technologies that will alert you to expiration dates and automatically restock your fridge through Amazon. The project has reportedly been in the works for several years. It’s being developed by the same team that developed Just Walk Out stores, which operate without salespeople or cash registers.

Smart composting devices are a fairly new category. The Lomi project, which was funded on Kickstarter, has finally started shipping. There's also the FoodCycler FC-50 from Vitamix phone number list on the market, and similar devices are coming soon.

However, composting is the final step in food waste management, and it is much more beneficial to use up leftovers before they end up in the composter. This requires improved storage technologies.
This is being done by Uvera, a startup that uses ultraviolet light to kill bacteria and extend the shelf life of products. The Blakbear project is developing a food storage system that will evaluate the gases produced and more accurately measure shelf life.
