Baymard Institute conducted several large-scale usability tests for more than 50 leading online stores. Among them, three of the most popular product upload templates for desktop and mobile were tested: pagination, infinite scrolling, and the “Load More” button.

In testing product lists and filters on e-commerce sites, many respondents expressed dissatisfaction with page-by-page navigation: it was considered slow, and the presence of many pages often discouraged people from viewing the full list of products. It was also noted that users actually viewed far fewer products on sites that used the "Load More" button and infinite scrolling, and spent the longest time on the first page of results.
